Celebrating Take Your Dog to Work Day at VetStem

Posted by Bob under Dogs, VetStem

Take Your Dog to Work Day is the perfect excuse to spend a little extra time with our four-legged best friends while recognizing the positive impact they can have in the workplace. While having dogs around certainly makes the office more fun, research suggests there may be real benefits as well. Studies have found that dog-friendly workplaces can help reduce stress, improve employee well-being, and increase job satisfaction. One review of workplace dog programs noted that dogs can contribute to a more positive work environment and support employee health and wellness.

Dogs may also help strengthen connections between coworkers. Research has shown that dogs in the workplace can encourage social interaction, boost morale, and create a greater sense of community among employees. Whether it’s stopping to say hello to a furry coworker, taking a quick walk outside, or sharing stories about our pets, dogs have a unique way of bringing people together and brightening the workday.

At VetStem, we are proud to be a dog-friendly workplace and enjoy these benefits every day. It’s not uncommon to see dogs making the rounds for treats and attention, relaxing beside their owners’ desks, or joining us for a walk during a break. Their presence helps create a welcoming, enjoyable atmosphere and serves as a daily reminder of why we’re so passionate about helping animals live happier, more comfortable lives. This Take Your Dog to Work Day, we’re celebrating all of the dogs who make our workplace a little brighter.

VetStem Celebrates National Zoo and Aquarium Month

Posted by Bob under Exotic Animals

June is recognized as National Zoo and Aquarium Month, a time to celebrate the important role accredited zoos and aquariums play in wildlife conservation, scientific research, and environmental education. Across the country, these organizations work tirelessly to protect endangered species, advance animal health, and inspire people of all ages to care about wildlife and the environment.

At VetStem, we are proud to support the health and well-being of animals in human care through regenerative veterinary medicine. Over the years, VetStem Cell Therapy has been used by multiple zoos and aquariums across the United States to help improve quality of life in a wide variety of exotic species. From large mammals and marine animals to birds and reptiles, veterinarians have utilized stem cell therapy to help manage orthopedic injuries, degenerative joint disease, and other painful conditions that can impact mobility and comfort.

Caring for exotic animals often comes with unique challenges, especially when it comes to age-related conditions and injuries. Maintaining mobility and reducing discomfort can make a significant difference in an animal’s daily activity and overall welfare. By partnering with zoological and aquarium veterinary teams, VetStem is honored to contribute to innovative treatment options that help support animal health and enhance quality of life.

This National Zoo and Aquarium Month, we celebrate the veterinarians, caretakers, researchers, and conservationists dedicated to protecting wildlife and providing exceptional care to the animals they serve. VetStem is grateful to play a small role in supporting these incredible efforts through regenerative medicine.

VetStem Cell Therapy Helps Dog Recover from Knee Injury

Mr. Pickles, a boxer, was just four years old when he tore the cruciate ligament in his right knee, a painful injury that significantly affected both his mobility and quality of life. His veterinarian, Amie Csiszer of Oregon Veterinary Referral Associates, recommended surgery along with VetStem Cell Therapy to help support his recovery.

VetStem Cell Therapy has been used in thousands of animals to treat orthopedic injuries by helping reduce pain and inflammation while supporting the body’s natural healing process. When combined with surgery, stem cells can accelerate healing, minimize scar tissue formation, and potentially slow the progression of arthritis. This can lead to a reduction in symptoms and an overall improvement in quality of life.

According to his owner, Mr. Pickles healed quickly after surgery and stem cell treatment. Unfortunately, only a few months later, he tore the cruciate ligament in his other knee, something that’s actually very common in dogs with this injury. But this time, his family already had his stem cells banked and ready to use, allowing his veterinarian to move forward with treatment quickly. His owner shared, “This helped expedite Mr. Pickles’ healing and now down the road we have the cells stored. Very thankful for this service to support his wellbeing.”

Cruciate ligament tears are one of the leading causes of hind limb pain and lameness in dogs and often lead to arthritis over time, even after surgery. When used alongside surgical repair, VetStem Cell Therapy may help support healing, improve comfort, and potentially reduce the progression of arthritis. For Mr. Pickles and his family, having access to stem cell therapy provided added peace of mind during a challenging recovery journey.
