VetStem’s 2025 Year in Review

Posted by Bob under VetStem

It’s hard to believe 2025 is coming to a close! It’s been a busy year for VetStem with a new commercial partnership and multiple milestones reached. For our final blog of the year, we’re recapping some of our biggest news of 2025.

  • Perhaps our most significant development of the year came in February when we announced that we entered into an exclusive license and supply agreement with PetVivo Holdings, Inc. to commercialize VetStem’s PrecisePRP Products.
  • Following this announcement, PetVivo officially launched PrecisePRP at the annual Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas, NV.
  • In March we secured additional funding to accelerate the final steps toward FDA conditional approval of StemStat™ Ortho, an allogeneic, off-the-shelf stem cell therapy for the treatment of canine osteoarthritis. This milestone positions VetStem to become the first company to bring an FDA-approved allogeneic stem cell product to the veterinary market – a groundbreaking achievement in the field of regenerative medicine.
  • In April, we reached yet another industry-leading milestone with over 40,000 stem cell treatments processed for nearly 17,000 patients.
  • August saw the VetStem Sales and Marketing team in Kansas City, MO for the annual Fetch DVM360 conference. We sponsored and exhibited at this show and teamed up with our commercial partner, PetVivo Animal Health. VetStem CEO, Dr. Bob Harman, and small animal technical services veterinarian for PetVivo, Dr. Juli Goldstein, delivered lectures about regenerative medicine and multimodal treatment approaches to osteoarthritis in small animals.
  • We wrapped up the year with a few record-breaking stem cell processing months as everyone worked to squeeze in their stem cell therapies before the holidays!

As we conclude our 24th year in veterinary regenerative medicine, we’re grateful for the progress made and energized for what’s ahead. Here’s to another year of advancing regenerative medicine and delivering meaningful, life-changing care for the animals who rely on us. See you in 2026!

VetStem Celebrates International Day of Veterinary Medicine

Posted by Bob under Veterinary Medicine

December 9th was International Day of Veterinary Medicine, an annual reminder of the essential role veterinarians and their teams play in supporting the health and welfare of animals. From routine preventive care to managing complex medical conditions, veterinarians are dedicated to improving the lives of all animals, from pets and livestock to wildlife and working animals. This day highlights the skill, compassion, and commitment that define the veterinary profession.

At VetStem, we are grateful to work alongside veterinarians who continue to expand the use of regenerative medicine in clinical practice. Over the years, our veterinary partners have helped advance the application of stem cell therapy and platelet-rich plasma for a wide range of orthopedic and inflammatory conditions. Their willingness to explore new treatment modalities has contributed to better outcomes and improved comfort for thousands of animal patients.

As we recognize International Day of Veterinary Medicine, we want to extend our appreciation to the many veterinarians who trust VetStem as part of their treatment approach. We remain committed to providing high-quality regenerative medicine solutions and look forward to continuing this important work of helping pets live longer, healthier, and more comfortable lives.

National Cat Lovers’ Month: VetStem Cell Therapy for Cats

In honor of National Cat Lovers’ Month, we’re highlighting how VetStem Cell Therapy can help improve quality of life for cats facing common chronic conditions. Using your cat’s own regenerative cells collected from a small sample of fat, VetStem Cell Therapy offers a natural way to reduce inflammation, support healing, and promote long-term comfort.

Orthopedic Issues

Arthritis and orthopedic injuries can greatly affect a cat’s mobility and quality of life. VetStem Cell Therapy helps reduce inflammation, improve joint comfort, and support tissue repair. Many cat owners report better mobility, increased playfulness, and an overall happier cat following treatment with stem cells.

Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

CKD is one of the most common illnesses in older cats. Common symptoms can include weight loss, lethargy, variable appetite, and poor coat quality. Some cats may also drink and urinate more, vomit, or have diarrhea. Unfortunately, treatment options for cats with kidney disease are limited. Stem cells have shown promise in supporting kidney function by reducing inflammation and fibrosis. While not a cure, VetStem Cell Therapy may help slow progression and improve symptoms in some cats with CKD.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

Cats with IBD often struggle with chronic vomiting, diarrhea, and weight loss. Stem cells may help calm the immune system and decrease gastrointestinal inflammation in cats with IBD. Many veterinarians consider this therapy when traditional treatments aren’t enough or cause unwanted side effects. Numerous cats (and dogs!) have shown remarkable improvement after treatment with VetStem Cell Therapy, with some even experiencing a full resolution of their symptoms.

Feline Chronic Gingivostomatitis (FCGS)

This painful oral inflammatory condition can significantly impact a cat’s quality of life. VetStem Cell Therapy is a promising option for cats who don’t fully respond to dental extractions or medications. And some cats have been able to avoid full mouth extractions after treatment with VetStem Cell Therapy. Stem cells can help regulate the immune response and reduce severe inflammation in the mouth, thereby improving symptoms and quality of life.

If your cat is struggling with any of these conditions, talk to your veterinarian to see whether VetStem Cell Therapy may help or contact us to find a VetStem provider near you.
